Just a quickie. I read today that Ruth Kelly is preparing a paper proposing that prospective employers in the schooling industry....err, that'll be head teachers then, face a penalty of 5 years in jail for not checking references correctly. This is being done to set parents minds at rest. Does this mean that the self-flagellating, closer-to-GOd-than-the-rest-of-you one herself will be facing a stiff sentence? Is it not her department that has singularly failed to monitor and implement policies preventing paedophiles working in our schools? 3 words bad,rubbish, rid!
